Do they know or don't know?

School is back in action and so are we!

Is it just me or did anyone notice that they have become a tad bit taller? 🤔

Well, I am glad that we have been able to seamlessly get back into routine. I notice their questions and responses have become more meaningful, better thought of and better articulated. #thinkingskills #communicationskills

It also helped me realize that they are ready to be introduced to the world of 'adjectives' aka describing words. (5-6 year olds)

The joy and excitement was a treat for my eyes, as we looked at the following questions

- what colour is it?
- what shape is it?
- how big or small is it?
- what does it look like?
- what does it feel like?
- what does it sound like?

And look what we came up with! It might be a run of the mill idea, but the fact that this was the first task given to them- where most of us might assume that they don't know the concept.

In my experience so far, one cannot assume that they don't know about something, and we as teachers have to rescue them and bring them towards this part of enlightenment. Maybe that's why we used to call ourselves 'Saints on Stage?'

From inventive spellings to creative drawings, from drawing the front and the back profile to organizing their task sheet- there's so much data to gain from, through this engagement.
