Mathematics teacher 💫 Education enthusiast 💫 Passionate about pedagogy and didactic
I am passionate about learning and teaching which might be why I have such an unusual career/academic path.
I went to university to study physics, but I wanted more than just theoretical speeches, so I became a weather forecaster with the Portuguese air force.
I had my first child and discovered a whole new world; a world of play and fun. I realized I wanted to know more about child development and learning so I went back to university to study education.
Neuroscience, particularly non-pharmacological cognitive enhancement, led me to move to the United Kingdom where I completed my MSc in Psychology, Genetics, and Education.
I have enjoyed teaching over the past decade. I am particularly motivated to engage with maths visual methods and mastery teaching. Lately been thinking about attachment and cultural differences' impact on (perceived) behaviour in the classroom.
Always looking for new educational adventures. I am a dreamer, forever chasing an education (unicorn) model.
Maslow before Bloom. Schools need to change the industrial-revolution model with an updated version that supports the learner holistically.
