Olympia Saha

The influencer has been a victim of early marriage, yet she has never given up on her dreams to fight for the future. She became a mother at age 20, and the stigma of being in a middle-class family set in to limit her boundaries within the house. She, with sheer dedication, completed her master's in economics from the University of Calcutta in 2017. She also completed her B.Ed. in 2020 and her Post-Graduate Diploma in Education Management and Administration in 2021. Currently, she has written her final papers for her Master in Education and has successfully defended her dissertation. A young girl of 19 who was denied support from her family for a bright career ahead has taken up the challenge all by herself. Her aim in life is to help out such victims who fail to reach their goals due to the obstacles that come now and then.
She is a member of the Tollygunj Yuva Rotaract Club and is involved in fundraising for regular education, food, and clothing. Her awards include National Geographic Educator, Climate Action Educator, and the National Academy of Art Education's National Women Excellence Award. She has also been nominated as a Dedicated Teacher by the Cambridge University Press.
Her work has touched thousands of lives. Her advice to students and parents, as well as her belief that there is always a solution to every problem, have helped her broaden her horizons at work. She is also a Students Talk Ted ED facilitator, encouraging students towards public speaking. Her next project will be to raise awareness and educate transgender people. She believes that the number of transgender and LGBTQ students enrolled in secondary or higher secondary schools is significantly lower than it should be and that the country as a whole should grow. She intends to educate transgender people in her community and groups, and she proposes to register them with NIOS to make their lives easier and to help them integrate into mainstream society. The government has taken a plethora of initiatives for this section of the population, yet there is something that still holds them back from coming forward. She would gladly cater to these groups in order to teach them and show them the way and purpose of life. She is also a Global School Ambassador, where she has collaborated with several schools all across the world to work collaboratively for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A club has been organised named Crusaders for a Sustainable Earth (CASE), which includes schools from India and Nepal. Her model, which has been certified by the National Geographic Education Society, can be a mass-changing approach to school-level initiatives. Quality education, gender equality, partnership for goals, and climate action are the SDGs she focuses on in her projects. Internalization of education, which is one of the important parameters of the NEP 2020, has also been implemented by implementing virtual exchanges between Indian students and students all across the world by helping them participate in the Global Schools Student Symposium 2022. Being a teacher in a girls' school in the heart of the city of Kolkata, with the vision of empowering the girl child, accepts all odd jobs to allow the school to empower the girl child more and more. In 2022, the school also won the Telegraph school of the year award.
